Newsletter 44 – Encora, recognized for its attractive work culture for Colombian engineers

This company based in Cali has more than 400 vacancies for engineers in Latin America, with remote working, scholarships, training and promotion opportunities.

Encora, a global provider of state-of-the-art engineering products, was awarded the Great Place To Work -GPTW-™ Certification in Colombia, after an anonymous survey of all the employees at its current headquarters in Cali (Valle del Cauca) who were working for more than three months in the company.

The company’s development centers in Costa Rica, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil and Mexico were also awarded. GPTW™ is a certification program that validates a company’s organizational culture and assesses whether its employees consider it a truly great workplace.

“Encora has prioritized the promotion of a people-centered organizational culture. We improved our communication processes and enabled feedback channels for our employees. In response to our people’s needs, we develop programs that incorporate best practices in wellness, human development and training,”, said Jessica Barrantes, People & Culture director.

Likewise, Encora has also evolved its practices, with integrated training programs for leaders, remote working, new and improved benefits, talent retention and promotion policies, among other initiatives. “As part of our focus on human talent, we offer competitive compensation packages, aligned with industry. Encora promotes a good working environment, which generates long-term bonds and allows us to develop successful careers with our co-workers”, added Barrantes.

Encora chose Cali to start its operation in Colombia, where they opened a development center in 2020 . The company has had the support of Invest Pacific -the regional investment promotion agency of Valle del Cauca- throughout their establishment and growth process, with ProColombia and the regional institutional framework as additional support.

The hiring process has recently begun in other regions of the country. Overall, the company currently employs 115 professionals in Colombia and 3,400 people throughout Latin America. Forecasts hint at closing this year with at least 4,000 people in this region.
