Cali, the Branch of Heaven

Cali has established itself as a cost-efficient destination for living, with the lowest annual variation in cost of living among Colombia’s five major cities and the lowest average housing rental costs in the Americas.

On the cultural front, the city offers 207 public and private cultural venues, including 87 cinemas, 23 theaters, 22 museums, and 60 libraries. This last figure positions Cali as the Colombian city with the highest number of libraries connected to the National Public Library Network.

The city also boasts a vibrant nightlife: two of its nightclubs are ranked among the world’s top 100 by the International Nightlife Association. Recognized as the Sports Capital of the Americas, Cali features 562 sports facilities across urban and rural areas, including 4 golf courses and more than 100 kilometers of cycling routes throughout its territory.

Recently, the city-region hosted COP16, the United Nations Conference on Biodiversity—the largest event ever organized in Colombia. With its seven rivers, wetlands, diverse ecosystems, and more than 500 bird species, Cali welcomed 21,000 national and international visitors, achieving a 97% hotel occupancy rate and generating revenues of USD $66 million.
